| A snapshot of a businessman on the streets of Washington, DC who is walking deliberately and munching on an apple. This photograph captured in September, 1999 was taken by Jim Epler during the fall in Washington, DC a street corner. It is cataloged under the terms street photography, people, cities and urban scenes in this photography database. The image was exposed on 35mm Kodak Tri-X 400 black & white film stock using a Pentax Asahi Spotmatic II camera with a lens stopped to f/16 and exposed at a speed of 1/125th of a second. Photographer Comments: I held my camera low, acting like I was fiddling with the controls when I snapped this quick shot of a gentleman walking along Pennsylvania Avenue munching on his apple. Besides the obvious humor I find in the tie draped over his shoulder, I also like this picture because of the detailed stone carvings in the building's facade and the representation of the architecture across the street reflected in the window. Unfortunately, I needed to do quite a bit of post-process work in Photoshop on this photograph because the original negative demonstrated soft focus, a long scratch and over exposure. I also needed to rotate the canvas approximately 6 degrees counter-clockwise to align the plane to the horizontal axis. Other than these little "niceties" it was a great shot. |

Additionally, Jim thought of search words that someone might use to locate this picture including the terms B&W, walking, trix, business man, street photography, eating, Pennsylvania Avenue, tri-x, black and white and man, so he included these on this page as a service to himself and others who would like to download this free photograph! |
